setting out - new build - agnes coy a

The day before winter began, in between building jobs, our new home was set out using pink paint, wooden stakes and string. It felt very strange wandering through the marked out rooms that are perfectly formed in my head.

Oh how exciting! How long will it take to build it do you think?

Like a rehearsal room mark-out! xxxx

  3. A house of dreams, how beautiful to watch it form and take shape.
    Hugs Lynn x

  4. Hi Ros! It should take about 16 weeks. Having said that, G will be building in-between other jobs so there’s no deadline really. I imagine that you’ll be back in NZ before we move in which means that you can come to a warming party!

  5. Haha! Just like that Kate. x

  6. Thanks Lynn. Exactly! This is why we moved here – to build ourselves a little house. Hadn’t a hope of doing that in the UK sadly. Having said that, the cost of it does keep up awake at night! xx Hope all is well with you.x

  8. oh how exciting! What a beautiful beautiful spot – you will have no choice but to be very very happy there x

  9. I keep coming back to your photos and walking around the site in my head! Its looking a great start – we are so excited for you all!

  10. Yes, it is very exciting. It’ll be a while yet before the house is built but at least we’ve made a positive start. I can’t wait! πŸ™‚

  11. Haha! Me too! It looked tiny when I first saw the string lines but G said they always look like that. Much bigger if you actually get inside them and pace it out. We’re just coming to the end of making choices and getting our quotes in. Then we’ll add it all up and take some time to recover!! Have almost finished choosing tapware and bathrooms. So difficult as there’s so much choice. Can’t wait for you and I to walk around it once it’s built. πŸ™‚
