a little r and r

We’re back, having spent a few smashing days away at the family lake house in Taupo. Rest and relaxation was most certainly achieved. We also got to see The Kings Speech which made me feel cosy and incredibly patriotic all at the same time. Amazing costumes and sublime acting.

Time was spent at the beach at Kinloch. Most people were back to work and school after the summer break so we literally had it all to ourselves – apart from a gathering of feathered friends who insisted on hanging out with us for the duration.

Before heading north to the lake we managed to complete the painting of our front fence which we’re thrilled with. We can now tick that off our list of things to do.

Well, today being the last day of my holiday, I’m off to the studio to make myself a dress. Since the dress making evening classes closed, I haven’t had the time to make myself a single piece so plan to take advantage of the next few hours.

Until next time…
