Looking down last evening on the flat plains of the Wairarapa from the top of the mountain, I realised that in just five days time, we would have lived here in New Zealand for three years. My heart will always belong to England but this beautifully, stunning, diverse country is really starting to feel like home.

  3. yes. beautiful country. lovely photos. but can you help me please to prounounce the word Wairarapa. each time i see the word, i play it around my tongue. but i am quite sure i don’t yet have it……

  4. Elk – ashamed to say that we drove up and then took a very short walk to the lookout!

Pat – it’s prnounced Why-ra-rapa and you have to roll both ‘R’s. Quite a mouth full really!

  5. You have a very lovely blog. Lots and lots of inspiration. You are most welcome to visit my blog too.
    Best regards from Germany,

  6. Hello Alison – your beautiful view reminds me a little of being up among the tors of Dartmoor – just beautiful. Like you, I’ve embraced where I’ve lived all these many years (coming up to 47 – where has all that time gone!), BUT my heart has always remained in Devon and I still miss it very much. So congrats. on your 3 year anniv. there – looks like you have made a wonderful life for you and your dh.
